The Government of Andhra Pradesh conferred Rural Development Trust (RDT) with the prestigious YSR Award in the Lifetime Achievements category. RDT Trustee Dr. Y V Malla Reddy received the award from Hon’ble Governer of Andhra Pradesh Biswabhusan Harichandan in the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, in the award ceremony held at Vijayawada on the 1st of November 2021.

We are honoured to receive this award from the state government of Andhra Pradesh, and we thank them for the recognition. This award is a testament to the commitment of thousands of people who joined hands with us to eradicate poverty and suffering in the past 52 years. This award is a motivation that humbles and encourages us to continue our work.  As my father once said, “No good action is lost in the world, somewhere it will last forever“, expressed Moncho Ferrer, RDT Programme Director.

It is a big honour for me, personally, and for the whole RDT team to accept this award, I would like to thank the Andhra Pradesh Government for it especially. It is a privilege to have been able to contribute to the development of Anantapur district and other areas of Andhra Pradesh for over more than 50 years by supporting thousands to come out of extreme poverty.  As long as there is suffering in the world, RDT will continue working to support the most vulnerable”, expressed Ms Anne Ferrer, RDT Executive Director.

The YSR Lifetime Achievement award was instituted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh to recognize the outstanding role of individuals and organizations for their excellence in public service and various fields.
